Spacetype is a project of the heart that I developed parallel to my studies at Designschule München. It is my first digitalized typeface and was a first training ground getting to know type design and font software. It is a geometric display font, conceptualised for headlines and short texts. Its main design feature are large cut out spaces which make it interesting by not adding ornaments but by taking away letter parts.

Due to my interests for the universe and space, this typeface was first meant to be used in a “spacey” context with planets and galaxies which resulted in its very technical and futuristic appearance. Hence, and through the visual creation of new “spaces”, comes the name.
